Domestic Violence Support Service for Men & Women

Initial Assessment

Initial Assessments collects individual contact information, and identifies whether a person is a victim or a perpetrator or both. It records forms of abuse and considers who may be affected and evalustes risk. Where risk is more serious it may result in a referral for Multi Agency Risk Assesment Conference - (MARAC).

Information Sharing

We ask for a signed authority at Initial Assesment permitting us to share confidential information, subject to informing the individual first where practicable. We always make clear where, for legal reasons information may have to be shared.


Information sharing may be required where there are safeguarding issues concerning children or vulenerable adults; there is concern that a person may harm themselves or others; or we become aware of an offence of monet laundering, terrorism, responsibility for fatal traffic accident or an offence of a similarly serious nature.
